Frequently asked questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

  • Telehealth therapy is an effective and convenient way to receive mental health support. As long as you have a stable internet connection, a smart phone or computer with a camera, and a private space for sessions, you can participate in online counseling.

  • Session fees are $165 per 50 minute session.

  • Atlas Counseling is not in network with any insurance plans. We are able to provide a monthly receipt for services, called a superbill, that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have out of network benefits. Coverage offered varies by insurance plan. You can contact your insurance company directly to get more information about your coverage.

  • During your first appointment, we’ll spend time answering any questions you have, and getting to know you and what your goals are for our time together. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy and how we can best support you.

  • The short answer is - it depends. We individualize therapy specifically to you and your goals. Some clients choose to continue therapy for ongoing support after they have reached their initial therapy goals. Length of therapy treatment is an ongoing conversation between you and your therapist.

  • Under federal law as of January 1, 2022, all patients receiving medical care outside of their insurance plans are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate. This document outlines expected costs for nonemergency healthcare services. You will be provided a Good Faith Estimate by your therapist, and are welcome to ask any follow up questions that you have at any time.
